Fae is excited to be the first winged faery in the Maryke Dolls family. She does like to keep a low profile however, so her wings are removable. You can often find her wandering small villages in her pointed cap, trying to pass as a common gnome. But there is nothing common about her of course.
Fae is made from a rich variety of vintage, upcycled, and natural materials. From her suede wings to her crisp white apron embroidered with teeny tiny stitches, she is a delight to behold. Her dress was made from a baby skirt and her cap from a vintage ladies blazer. I love all the different stories and textures in this doll. She's also a big testament to the many uses of responsibly sourced wool. From the wool fabric of her body, to her wool mix yarn hair, and the organic wool stuffing inside.
I hand-embroidered Fae's eyes and mouth, needle-felted her little nose, and added some pastel crayon blush to her cheeks. She's 14 inches in length and just a hair shy of "so sweet you can barely stand it."
This little faery is an art doll that is not recommended for small children, due to delicate and small parts. But Fae would be the perfect companion to an older child or those who are young at heart. She would also be happy guarding a nursery or adding a dash of whimsy to your decor.
